![]() ![]() But yeah, from here on out, I think worms are only going to get more advanced. Luckily restrictions have really prevented those from working out too well. I've heard of more worms trying to take off using the same code base that I wrote, and just changing a few things. I think that more worms are going to come out. Kamkar: It would be much harder to write a MySpace worm right now just because they've added so many restrictions, but it's always possible and there are so many other sites that these exploits are available on. IDGNS: Do you think it would be easy to write another MySpace worm now? It only took a few days to write the thing from start to finish and it was only in the last day that I thought that this could be a worm. As a programmer, it wasn't too much to learn how to use AJAX, which really helped make the worm work and proliferate really quickly. Kamkar: I'm not a Web application security expert, but I'm into security and I'm into Web applications. IDGNS: How hard was it to write the worm? Apparently, MySpace is a bigger place than I assumed. I thought maybe I'll get one friend tomorrow and a few in maybe a few days. I didn't think this would be a big deal, so I tried it out. And after that, I thought, 'If I can make this person my friend, if I can make myself their hero, couldn't I just copy this code onto their profile?' I also wanted to show off to a couple of friends, so I thought 'wouldn't it be cool if I did this? What if I made some of these people add me as a friend automatically?' Then I figured, 'what if I made them add me as a hero?' So I wrote a little code and what ended up happening is whenever someone viewed my profile, they would automatically add 'But most of all, Samy is my hero' at the end of their hero section on their profile. Initially I was just trying to spruce up my MySpace profile. Kamkar: When I wrote the worm, it initially wasn't a worm. IDGNS: What were you thinking when you wrote the Samy worm? He talked to IDG News Service about what life has been like since his arrest and what he plans to do as soon as he's online again. It's not easy being a computer geek cut off from computers, but if Samy remains a model parolee, he could be allowed to use computers again in a couple of months. Under the terms of his plea agreement, he can only use computers for work, so he was forced to show slides that he'd dictated to a friend on a computer that was operated by a conference staffer. He was treated like a celebrity at the show, but there were some complications. ![]() He loves all kinds of books.Last week, Samy, who is now 21, made his first public appearance since his conviction, attending the OWASP App Sec 2007 conference, hosted by eBay, in San Jose, California. Slimey enjoys having chapters of " Trash Gordon" read to him before he goes to bed at night. Slimey has had a few pets of his own, including a slug named Sluggy ( Episode 2177) and a Detroit Dirt Digger named Dirty ( Episode 4175). Sloppy is referred to as Stella in Episode 2123. Slimey's family includes his baby sister Sloppy, his parents Dusty and Eartha, and cousins Squirmy and Rachel. Oscar is saved when Slimey slithers the key out through the crack between the can and the lid.Ī study done in 1971 by Children's Television Workshop's research department reviewed children's responses to this episode, and specifically noted that the children "were attentive, responsive, and loved Slimy, the worm." Luis offers to pry off the lid with his crowbar, but that would dent the lid. Tom suggests that he saw the lock off, but that would ruin the new lock. Other early appearances include Episode 0262, where Slimey enters himself in the Sesame Street Pet Show, and Episode 0335, where Oscar accidentally locks himself out of his trash can. The story was later retold in Episode 2912 when Oscar reminisces on the event of Slimey's first day of school. ![]() Slimey was first introduced in Episode 0202, where Oscar tells his Sesame Street neighbors about finding him in the mud and he feeds him several strawberry sodas from Hooper's Store. Slimey shows skill at playing the tuba and the clarinet, and has the distinction of being the first worm on the moon. In later years, he developed a voice, provided by Dick Maitland (which is digitally manipulated in post-production to achieve a higher pitch). Originally, Slimey was a silent character who communicated with squeaks and gestures. Slimey learns some magic in Episode 2192. Slimey and Oscar appearing in the video game Once Upon a Monster. ![]() ![]() This is especially interesting for companies who like to avoid using AutoCAD and still need workshop drawings. Rhino 6 offers much more functionality for making 2D drawings. In Rhino 6 we found big improvements in creating very attractive images in little time. Therefore we often just make a few screenshots instead of a starting up a time consuming render procedure. Especially in the design- and engineering phase there is often little time to put a lot of effort in it. We also use Rhino a lot for internal or external presentations. This makes programming with Grasshopper so easy for people who are visually oriented like many designers. At RhinoCentre we work with Grasshopper since Grasshopper makes it possible to script Rhino commands without the need for programming by typing code in for eaxmple Python. Visual scripting with Grasshopper is now fully integrated in Rhino 6 and makes Rhino much more intelligent. As we work extensively with Rhino at RhinoCentre in projects for our clients, we have a clear idea where Rhino excels and where it is still disappointing.ĭue to our extensive contact with clients we also have a clear vision where clients can make big improvements in using Rhino in their workflow. Especially with huge 3D files and processing large AutoCAD drawings like general arrangement plans in the maritime industry. ![]() At RhinoCentre we work now for more than a year with Rhino 6 because it is much faster than Rhino 5. They want to make sure that a new Rhino is stable and a big improvement. This also explains why it took McNeel more than five years to deliver an upgrade. You can have multiple sessions of either or both open at the same time on one computer. The system moves to the next SR every weeks or so.Īt that point, current version work is scaled back and development effort goes into work for the next version. V6 SR11 is the current service release candidate. My guess is it will be several years before V7 is officially released. No choice is needed and no extra cost is involved. A year later or earlier I think and go to version 7. ![]() There are also some Sub-D commands being added. One new feature is EdgeContinuity which shows the difference in location, tangency or curvature between the adjacent edges of two surfaces. Periodically a new version of the WIP is released which sometimes have improvements or new features. If you have a license for Rhino 6 you can also install the latest Rhino 7 Work In Progress version and explore it. I doubt if McNeel has decided exactly what will be in Rhino 7. My guess is it will be several years before Rhino 7 is released. You can take 3D models from any view and make a 2D drawing out of it to take into Illustrator or AutoCAD.Rhino 7 is currently being developed and will eventually be the successor to Rhino 6. Make2D is a command that’s especially powerful for architects and designers. ![]() Make2D has been completely rewritten to provide faster, better, cleaner, more customizable results. In Rhino 6 for Windows, there are hundreds of minor bug fixes and streamlined similar features into single commands, making Rhino much more refined and efficient to work with.

The live album is tremendous and a good rendition of the concerts and has an extra track on it and has the false PF band playing. ![]() The studio version lacks the Fletcher track and the images but has the tracks as originally sung. The movie has the images that help you grasp the story best and has the Corporal Fletcher Memorial track but is with Geldof singing some tunes and lacks the superb Hey You! (it is in the bonus features, though). So the debate is: which of the three versions should you not get: The Movie, the live version or the original studio one? They've all got little plusses and a few minuses. I also saw the film about twenty times, and always wondered why the first number (depicting the death of Pink's father in WWII) never appeared anywhere in the studio and live recordings. I never bought the CD to replace my vinyl since I rarely have the urge to listen to this anymore (I know every note by heart) and got the live version recently released (Is There Anybody Out There?) instead which I think is superior. Actually, it gets 4.5 stars but there are moments I avoid on side 3 (from Is there Anybody out there? to Vera Lynn to Comfortably Numb included - I overdosed on the last number). ![]() ![]() Fifty words to describe this when all of my dear colleagues did such a fine job? Well, let me explain why this does not get the maximum rating, then. ![]() |
